Snow, snow, snow!!

Well, the "Winter Storm" hit this year. I honestly didn't think we'd have snow this year. Our daffodills were already starting to bloom. We have about 8 or so inches here. It's not as much as the year we got about 2 feet, in 2008. I have been sick since Dec 20th but have just been trying to continue life as normal, but it's been pretty hard, when I feel so terrible. Poor Scott. Being pregnant and sick for so long...I don't feel like I have been much fun.

Anyways, Sunday, I wanted to get out of the house, so we bundled up and found some snow (we didn't have much at our house at that point) so we drove to Lake Padden and brought Tubbs too. Brooklyn loves the snow. We walked (slowly) around the lake, and got some hot tea to keep us warm to drink along the way. Here are some pics of that walk.

Eating her first snow ball :-D

Gorgeous, huh?! God's creation is beautiful.

Lake Padden is a great place. It has places to BBQ in the summer, bathrooms, a 2.5 mile trail (and horse trails) and longers trails for more serious trail blazers, a dog park, baseball fields, and a play ground with a basketball court. It's a great place. BK loves to swing so we took her to the swings and let her swing. What a beauty. She looks like an angel in the snow.

AND of course the slide...she LOVES slides!!!

We have about 8 inches now, and some friends came over last night and sled in our back yard. Hallee and BK bundled up. Brooklyn loves sledding. It was her first time.

Here is Amber, Hallee and Brooklyn.

The girls, while the boys were sledding behind us. :-D Allison, Hallee, Me, Brooklyn and Amber.

We tried to get a group shot, but we were a bit unsuccessful, ha! This group of peeps meets every Tuesday night for our small group, doing bible study, having dinner, playing games, etc. They are great friends. We are now beginninng Financial Peace University (Dave Ramsey). Scott and I went through it right before Broolyn was born and since then have paid off over $30,000 in debt (School loans, Scott's credit card he had before our marriage, surgeries, taxes, and our car payment). We want to go through it again before Taylor is born to get back on track. We are ONE debt payment away from being debt free. Our goal is to pay off the Durango in March. :-D We will
be SO thrilled to be 100% debt free at our age. It's so rare. There are steps you follow, like after we pay off our debt, we will then save 3-6 mo of our expenses that way if anything happened to Scott's job, we know we have a few months of $ that we can pay things while he searches. Then saving for a home, etc.
We are excited to do FPU with this group, they will all benefit so much from it. We are blessed to have great friends here.

I took this picture this morning from our window. The streets are covered, since we are on a "county" road, they don't plow them, so there is TONS of snow on the road. The snow is SO peaceful. I love it. Hoping to bundle up and go out with B once she's awake so she can enjoy it. I guess a lot more is on its way...then gonna melt. I just wish I felt better to really go and enjoy it. But I guess B doesn't know better...ha.

Good job paying off your debts. We've got my van and our house that we're still making monthly payments on. Luckily Scott's truck is all paid for. I don't think we'll be able to finish paying off my van for another 2 years though. It'll be so nice when that happens!
